How do I get rid of chapped lips???

Question

I always have chapped lips! I've used tons of different lip balms/chapsticks- Burt's Bees, EOS, Baby Lips, etc. and I drink a lot of liquids and try to drink a lot of water and stay hydrated. But I can never keep my lips soft and smooth :/ It's so bad that I can't even wear lipstick because it dries my lips out. What do I do?? Tips? xxx

This one might be a bit odd but it's amazing on my lips; I use lansinoh nipple cream. I bought it because I am breastfeeding but I only used a tiny bit. My lips were super chapped one day and I decided, 'hey, if it works on chapped/cracked nipples, it should work for my lips too' it's seriously amazing!

Chapstick brand actually has an ingredient in it to dry out your lips, thus making you need to buy more (a good sales technique), so you could try Vaseline overnight and see if that helps :)

Chapstick and eos destroyed my lips. I actually put eos on when I went to bed one night because my lips were dry and woke up with swollen, burning lips that were literally seeping liquid. It was so painful. That and the fact that it can mold I avoid it now. The one thing I tried that worked was Blistex Ultra-hydration. It's blue with a dark blue core. I don't become dependent on it like Chapstick or bursts bees or soft lips and it really feels amazing on my lips. I will never buy anything else.

I agree with the Vaseline and coconut oil. anything besides that will probably just make it drier (Chapstick, blistex etc.) also, you could try going to the dermatologist. my lips are ALWAYS dry because of eczema, but wearing a protectant (aquaphor by eucerin) has worked out good for me. good luck !

Dab a little coconut oil on and then put aquafor on top of that. I do that every single night and it never fails. Just be sure to get the aquafor in the little jar, not the lip one!

I made a lip scrub with sugar coconut oil and some vanilla for flavoring (pinterest ) works wonders. I tab some on rub my lips together and lick it off. Sugae exfoliates the dry skin off and the coconut oil moisturizers them. The makeup artist I used for my wedding recommended it.
