Contraceptive implant experiences?

Please tell me your experiences of the implant and the advantages & disadvantages in your opinion :) deciding wether or not to get it :)

I had implanon fitted in 2010, was fab, periods stopped for the whole time.  My only issue with it was that it had been fitted incorrectly so when it came to removal they couldn't find it! Ended up having to have surgery to have it removed and now have quite a big scar. But the good definitely outweighed the bad, I still had another one fitted, which I think was nexplanon. And I'm sure I will have one again after we've had a baby!

I had it in for a good few years and loved it, then I started bleeding more, not all the time but a lot more, I was put on the pill. When I was due to renew it I just got it taken out and went on the pill.

I got implanon 6 weeks after I had my first child and I bled everyday for a year, like had to wear tampons. They kept telling me that it will stop and to give it another month. The only time the bleeding stopped was when they prescribed me a pill that had estrogen in it. The whole reason I wanted the implant was because I could never remember to take the pill. I got it taken out after a year of having it and the bleeding stopped. My doctor said it was rare to do that but some women so experience a lot of bleeding.
