Do you let your kid eat food dropped on the ground?

If your kid is eating lunch and drops half his sandwich on the ground, do you let him eat it? Or do you give him a new sandwich?
Why or why not?

Children are like plants, they need lots of dirt, sun, and water, to grow properly.

If it's in our floor at home? Sure, as long as I've swept and mopped recently and the food isn't visibly dirty. Anywhere else? Nope.

Unless we're somewhere REALLY dirty (we're talking Disney world during the measles outbreak), then dropped food will still be eaten. Sure, dirt and dog hair in your food is kinda gross, but it's not going to hurt us.

It would depend on the place. We've all seen the kid who drops his food in the grocery store and the mom picks it back up for him or her to eat. I find that disgusting. If its just at my house and I've washed the floors recently then its a waste of food.

No! Unfortunately, my mom was raised a germaphobe by my grandpa and guess who raised me to be a germaphobe! I'm too grossed out by the thought of all the teeny tiny germs, dust molecules, dirt, poop and bug guts and gum outside that we unknowingly step on that gets stuck on our shoes. Nooo lol

I'm a firm believer in the 5 second rule lol. But it does depend on where we are. Grocery store? Nope. My back yard, yup, my child can still eat that Popsicle that fell out of her hand. Germs are good for kids. Builds up the immune system.

Depending on how dirty the floor is. Kitchen floor, no pets, just washed, fine. Other than that NOPE.

If it's in my house sure, my floors and carpets get cleaned regularly so that doesn't bother me. If they drop something on the floor in a restaurant, no way. Ick!
