Cleft Palette Advice
We were thrown for a bit of a surprise when our beautiful baby boy was born with a cleft palette. He is otherwise healthy, so we know everything will be okay after his three surgeries. However, breastfeeding isn't easy nor will it ever be. I am determined to get him as much breast milk for as long as possible. I am using a nipple shield when he goes to breast and he will get the rest of my expressed milk through a bottle. I am writing to see if anyone has had experience with breast feeding with a cleft palette and has any advice for me. Thanks in advance!
