Getting your kids involved

Hi parents, are you the type of parent who feels it's important to have your child be active and involved?

For an example. My husband and I didn't really play sports or anything growing up and we really wish we had. So when we had our son we swore that he'd be into something, whether it's a sport or learning to paint or playing guitar. That we would want him to do something outside of school and away from tv.

So I'm just curious how other parents feels about putting your child in an extracurricular activity.
