Probably not but that's a question for them to answer. Most hospitals assume that you know who the baby daddy is.

No Indianapolis area hospital gives free paternity tests and they cost around $400. You only HAVE to have one if the father of the baby is seeking joint custody. He then has 60 days to get it. He can still sign the birth certificate without a paternity test as long as he agrees to give you sole custody. You would also need one if he doesn't sign the birth certificate and you try to get child support but I don't think you would be responsible for paying for it.

There IS a home test you can buy, some drug stores sell them and you can order them online. I know someone who used one; it was around $50 and it is just mouth swabs you have to collect and mail out to some lab, pretty simple and much cheaper than $400 but I'm not sure how long results take to get back.
