If your upset with your siblings do you think its okay to tell them they cant see your child?

Whenever my brother or his girlfriend get mad they always say "You can't be around my child anymore." Like isn't that bad parenting? My niece loves me and I help my brother every day with her and now I'm not aloud to go near her? Not right at all. Maybe I'm wrong..

I always felt being the aunt or uncle is the hardest. You are the parent who is not the parent. The kids will grow up n feel indebted to their parents but mostly forget the aunts and uncles who loved them like crazy.

I think it's bad. From what you mentioned you did nothing wrong it was just a silly thing he took the wrong way. Obviously they are entitled to prevent someone from seeing their child but if you and your niece have a close relationship he is only using her to punish you. They are clearly ridiculously immature and I do believe to can harm your niece if they pull this kind of stunt all the time.

My sister's did me wrong in a very big way. It wasn't just a little fight it was a major accusation that really screwed my life up and still is. They turned my entire family against me and completely cut me off. Yet they were still asking my mom to get pictures of my boys for them and wanting to come see my kids when I visited my mom. I'm sorry, but no. You cut me out of your life, my kids go too you don't get to have it both ways. If it was something minor it'd be a different matter, but I feel that if my family is going to treat me like dirt then they don't get to be part of my kids lives.

It is their child. Its their rules. It isn't necessarily bad parenting, but it does suck. Maybe just talk it out?

It's not something to take as lightly as a punishment against someone (or the child, for that matter). If you're denied access to my child, you did something horrible and my child and I are dead to you tomorrow. Something immoral, or harmful to us.
