Clomid! Does it work?

My fiancee and I have been trying to have a baby for a little over a year. With no luck!!! One of my co-workers said she was put on clomid and not even 2 months later she got pregnant.

I have irregular periods, never the same.. they come and go and pop up whenever. Recently on the 2nd I spotted brown blood for 3 days, super light that no panty liner was necessary, but on friday I started my period it was lighter than usual and only lasted 4 days. No pad was necessary to use but a panty liner suited better. I was told by my gynecologist that I'm probably not ovulating like I should. I need some insight on clomid, and if there has been some successful pregnancies using clomid. Please no judgement, I just don't know what to do.
