Can babies tell???

Question

So my DH and I just began trying for our second little one. We have a 5 year old, and I have one miscarriage in between them and now. 
Sunday I woke up just feeling different, and I just know I'm pregnant, sadly can't test for several more days. However I know a woman fostering a 2 month old baby boy, and I got to hold him today. He's so precious!!! As soon as I picked him up he just cried and cried, so I handed him off and he settled immediately...the foster mom told me tht I must be pregnant, because babies do that to pregnant women its like they can tell your pregnant. If a boy cries, it's a girl. If a girl cries its a boy...???

Has anyone else heard this before?? Is there truth behind it??

That sounds along the same lines of the whole "man on top during sex its a boy, woman on top its a girl" thing. Probably just an old wives tale.

That's just a myth. My friend told me some similar myth. She said if a boy throws up on you you're having a girl and vice versa. She said this to me at my gender reveal party right after my friend's son threw up on me KNOWING I wanted a boy! Lol I was pissed I told her to shut up. 10 minutes later we revealed and I found out I am having a boy. It's just a tale.   It's not true. I'm not saying you're not pregnant, you could be, but just because that happened doesn't mean you are. Happy conceiving though!

The way I understand it, if you've just become pregnant your baby isn't either sex yet... it isn't for awhile that the baby develops female or male genitalia. It is currently sexless. There's no way a baby could tell.

Haha I loved reading all the responses here!! It would be totally awesome if I were pregnant, but It is physically impossible to tell right now. I will say I woke up last sunday and just felt different! I can't explain it. Either way, it seems that if its a wives tale there could be a little validity to it! Lol which is kinda cool!

I think young kids are able to tell. The day I found out I was pregnant my husband and I had family over and when my nephew said goodbye to me he kissed my belly. No one but me (not even my husband) knew I was pregnant at this point.

I also think animals can tell as well. My dog has always been a cuddler but wouldn't go near my stomach from day one.

I'm sure it's just like any other wive's tale and has a 50/50 chance of being right.  It did happen to be true for me. When I first found out I was pregnant I went to my friend's house who has a baby that was 3 months at the time. I picked her up and she cried which means you're having a boy, which I am. My friend also did the ring test which also said boy. Other than those I've craved salty food instead of sweet. None of the other old wive's tales were right for me. They are just fun but none are 100% accurate.
