Swelling?

In September 2014 I started having really bad swelling in my left side f my body like my leg,ankle and foot it worries me because I have no idea what's going on and I know for sure I'm not pregnant it always starts with my feet cramping then just terrible pain and leads to swelling and sometimes it has big brusies..what should I do?
