AF after miscarriage

Hi. I had a missed miscarriage. I found out on 4/27/15. I had a d & c on 5/1/15. I bled until 5/15/15. I woke up this morning & got my first period since having the d & c. I woke up at 6:40am & saw that I had AF. I put a tampon in. By 8:15 i was already bleeding through the tampon. I know this might be TMI but is this normal bleeding after having a d & c? I am assuming it is, but I would like to know i am not the only one this has happened to. I have never had a period that I have bled so much so quick.
