If both you and your partner are carriers then every child you have has a 1 in 4 chance of being born with Cystic Fibrosis.

Why do you think this is not common knowledge? I found out this week i am cystic fibrosis carrier. We are know currently waiting on the results from husbands test. I always heard about Jewish people needing to get tested for Tay-Sachs and African Americans needing to get tested for sickle cell but I never heard anything about Cystic Fibroisis! If we had know this we would have gotten tested before trying to conceive.
