Idk what to do...please help...

Recently my boyfriend got saved and babatised. I was overwelmed with Joy. We go to the same church. I'm so Happy he made that choice in his life. But last night he told me that ever since that happened to him he feels not as close to me like something is pulling us apart like were drifting away from each other I do not feel like this. I feel very close to him. We have been together over a year and a half and have been threw so much together. I need him and he says he needs me...we don't want to lose eachother...he says he still loves me with all his heart. Please how do we fix this closenss going away?...
