Misoprostol (Cytotec)

Anyone else have their doctor recommend using Misoprostol (Cytotec) as opposed to D&C?  Yesterday was horrible painful and diareah I feel like I just survived hell.  I wish she had recommended a D&C instead from what I have read on here. I was only measuring 6w3d and should have been 9 weeks. I am 41 and have no children. She said she didn't want to risk scarring but from what I read here many women have safely had them and gone on to have Healthy pregnancies. Curious to hear those who have used the medication and what it was like for you. Sending support to all of you.
