I don't believe you should pick. I believe it should be from him for what he thinks "fits" you. I looked at rings online and liked a lot. I even gave my inlaws pics of what I liked. My husband picked something totally different because he said he saw it and "just knew it was meant to be mine". I absolutely love it and love him for knowing me so well.

Maybe Google search the pros and cons of each. I know some are too soft and bend easier if you work a lot with your hands, and others if too impure and cause allergic reactions.
