3 weeks and still no results from my husbands CF carrier test...

I found out at 20 weeks that I am a cystic fibrosis carrier. My husband got the test to see if he was a carrier. When the blood was taken we were told the test would be 4-5 business days. Thursday will make it 3 weeks that we have waited with no results. Should I just go ahead and ask for an amnio or CVS to test baby?(I see my doctor tomorrow) Or keep waiting for results? There is a 1 in 25 chance that my husband is also a carrier. If he is a carrier our child has a 1 in 4 chance of having cystic fibrosis.
