Do you always need a D&C after a miscarriage?

Had my fist pregnancy and miscarriage last year at about 8 weeks. Never saw a doctor for a D&C after. Just went to the ER that day and got checked out. They never mentioned anything about needing a D&C. I just let nature take its course and tried to conceive again right after. Still TTC! Could not getting a D&C have created any problems for me?? Did I really need one?

Sorry you went through that. I've had two miscarriages and I didn't need a d+c (one thing my body did for me that I'm thankful for) u only need it ifvu body doesn't clear out all tissue/blood etc if any left ud get an infection. My last miscarriage was Aug 2014 still ttc here. Baby dust to you.

No, you don't always need one if nature does it's thing. For me, nature would NOT do it's thing, even when they tried with medicine, so I had to have one so that I wouldn't get infected. Even though I got my cycle back right away have still been trying for 7 months again with no luck. So if the doctors didn't think you needed one, no I don't think it hurt your chances. I would rather have not had to have one but had no choice.
