Telling a women she should have her tubes tied?

Back story: my mother In law to be is.... well annoying beyond belief and is extremely fake and thinks her son could have picked better and think that since I'm 25 I have no idea how to raise my son nor do I have any cooking or cleaning skills ( unfortunately I cannot afford a maid to clean my house so I do it but it isn't up to her standards)

Well recently we told her were expecting again and after saying we need to start filling out the paper work for welfare and assistance and while I'm not married to a retired doctor my fiance and I live comfortably . She then said well I could have them tie my tubes since I'll be in the hospital delivering anyways...

I usually don't listen to her comments but that saying I should have my tubes tied really made me mad. I feel as if it that shouldn't ever be said to a women.

Am I wrong to think what she said to me is incredibly rude? Or is my hormones taking over?
