Any tips or suggestions for cloth diaper newbe?

So this time around we'd like to cloth diaper. But the problem is I have no clue where to begin! 
It's not as easy as going to the store and figuring out what brand you want and grabbing your size and being on your way!
So ladies do you have any tips or suggestions for this beginner?

I'm using bum genius free times. They are all in one's. My husband is on board because of that. It's easy like a disposable you just wash them instead of throwing them away. If it wasn't for all in one's though my hubs would be against it lol

Do lots of research. The best brand last year likely has contestants now. I liked the "grow with me" kind with lots and lots of snaps. They can get expensive, and you will need a lot of them, so this helps. No worries, they will pay for themselves quickly regardless of brand. I bought 15 to start out, once we got past the tiny newborn sizes. Worked for us.

Buy a few packs of disposables for the closet. Sometimes, shit happens (lol), and mom may have forgotten to turn on the washer or they rack isn't dry yet. I highly suggest hanging to dry btw. Or, mom's just too damn tired to do laundry. Don't feel bad, we all need a break sometimes.

When you go out, PLEASE humor me on this, don't just put the dirties in a black-out bag. Put the diaper in sealed ziplock. It prevents stains from occuring and smells. <no one told me this, I was just given this adorable diaper bag with what I assumed was a air tight seal and.... yeah.

Ensure your SO is 100% with you on this!! Especially if your's like mine and doesn't like extra steps with anything! You will get good practice, as the first few months are so watery you can basically just chunk them in the washer without issue. The real game starts later when poos become more solid.

Check out Gdiapers. I love them! Very easy but a tad bit more expensive, so worth it though. I use cloth liners in mine but they have a disposable option.

Are you on Facebook? If so there's a cloth diapering group on there that really helped me out. I prefer the all in one type, with the cloth or bamboo inserts. How many you'll need will depend on how often you want to do laundry. I have about 40, with about 100 inserts. I do laundry every few days.
