I'm a lesbian why does my friends think I want them?

I have a lot of friends but when I hang out with one on one they always think  it's necessary to tell me that they aren't a lesbian I don't know what I'm doing to them to make them think that it's so weird.  This happened 3 times. I want to beable to gave girls that are just friends without them thinking I want them! Help

Sounds like they're afraid of their own feelings if they have to point that out. I had a college roommate that literally waited till I came home at 3 am after she found out I swing both ways just to tell me that she was afraid I would do something to her n her sleep. I was super mad n told her I wouldn't do that to anyone n because she had offended me n I tend to lose all my filters when I'm mad I told her that I wasn't attracted to ppl who were so ugly inside that they would believe that about others anyway so she definitely didn't have anything to worry about. Saw her a year later n low n behold she was out of the closet n even admitted that she was only afraid of her own feelings toward me.

Maybe just being a little less forward with your future friends may help I had a best friend growing up named sundee. I totally spent almost every night at her house, she was amazing. Such an awesome friend. Loved her! She never ever hit on me, yet all our mutual friends knew she was lesbian. We never talked about it, at all. She never disclosed it to me. Even after seeing her a few Years back she didn't say hey I just want u to know I'm gay and have been. She is now married and in love. Of course she's married to a woman and I liked the picture on Fb and congratulated them and she liked my comment so she knew I saw it. Never did we cross that boundary within our friendship and I think that's why it was so amazing. Keep your gayness to yourself per say unless you're in a crowd with other lesbians and or on the gay scene. Acquaintances don't matter they can come and go but if you aren't sexually interested in someone why care about disclosing what you like sexually?

Huh strange! Are you touching them or joking around. It's weird I have a few friends that are gay and is never thought they wanted me or anything I'd say maybe you need better people in your life. Are you the only gay person they know. Just because you are a lesbian doesn't mean you want all women.

If they act like that, they aren't really good friends. My best friend told me she liked girls when we were 15 and nothing changed she's still my best friend 18 years and going strong!

Ask them if they are doing this to their male friends. Do they make it a point to let their guy friends know that they aren't dating right now or that they are not their type?
