Anyone else have pain in the butt in-laws?

My in-laws and i have never gotten along or it all feels really fake. I feel like dealing with them is harder than the deployment...actually they are harder to deal with.  I'm torn between trying to make an effort with them(when i doubt it will do any good) or just let them come to me.

I'm pretty sure his stepmother hates me... She thinks it's my fault he hasn't called her in months so when he said we were engaged she was so rude...

I would try to a point but wouldn't let it stress you. I can not stand my MIL. She is very fake and has caused a lot of stress and drama to my marriage. I tolerated her for my husbands sake but recently she kept being childish and annoying causing me extra stress so I ended up giving up. It's not worth ones sanity

I make an effort with his dad, aunt and grandma because they don't judge me for every move i make and they make the effort back. The others say to call them if i need anything, we're here for you blah blah blah but the one time i did call for a ride home after some drinks with co-workers one of his sisters didn't talk to me at alllll at the family get together the next day. I walked in the house to see her talking about me and she messaged my deployed husband about it so it started a whole argument. They alot of things like we're here for you and we want you around and that but i don't feel they really mean it.

I will say if you really have no other issues than your relationship feelig forced and fake. I would still make an effort. I felt that way in the beginning with my husbands mom but eventually we both got pretty comfortable with each other and it's a pretty easy going relationship now.

My husband's mother and stepdad are amazing amazing people and I get along well with them but his father and stepmother is another story. His father told me I was ruining my child by being a stay at home parent for her. That she was going to be spoiled and that I needed to stop being lazy and get off my big butt and throw my kid in daycare and go work. Even though my husband and I both made the decision that I would stay home as long as we are able to afford it. He basically told me that he would send me a book to read so that I can get educated on what he feels is the best way to raise my child ect ect. Needless to say he has been removed from the picture. Apparently his father pulled this crap with my husbands previous marriage as well and it cause major issues. And dont get me started on his stepmother. Miss Suzy homemaker who pretends to be so perfect it's sickeningly fake and I can see right through her facade.
