Moodiness and Sadness During Period

Hi everyone. I am new at this but I am realizing sometimes during my first day of my period or a few days prior, I am very moody and down. I had a wedding this past weekend and I was extremely paranoid and irritable and in an AWFUL mood. My period came Sunday night and the wedding was Saturday. Today (Monday) I feel not so irritable but very sad... Like an empty feeling sort of... And sensitive more than usual. Anyone else feel this way sometimes during your period?
