Spotting and worried....

I'm not sure I'm going to get an answer on this but I'm putting it out there any way. I didn't take a picture but would implantation bleeding be of a bright red color. I was in church and started to cramp and when I went to the bathroom I had bright red bloody discharge. I've always heard that implantation bleeding is brown in color but I've been spotting off and on for days. Could some one please explain implantation bleeding to me ?
