His mom keeps calling me by his Ex's name!?

Ive been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we are much in love. His mom and I have a great relationship aswel but the thing is she will slip up and call me by bfs exs name. It bothers me. I tell her to please try not to do it because it's very annoying but she still does. What can I do, if anything?

Weird after 3 years you would think his exs name wouldn't be in her head.  I guess pick your battles. If you know she's not trying to me mean about it or anything just ignore it.

My mil does stuff like that to me. I've learned that she acts nice to my face and "accidentally" calls me the wrong name (not really accidental). She talks bad about me to everyone behind my back and I didn't know this for at least a year or two into dating my now husband. She tries to get to me by doing stuff like this and I just ignore her. It seems to have helped by ignoring her.

My grandmother calls me 5 different names before she gets to the correct one. It's happened all my life and it's just because she has like 20 other grandkids. So your mother-in-law may just be really bad with names or she may have way too many names that she needs to remember. If she's not doing it to hurt your feelings, I would just cut her some slack. If it's a memory thing, there's not going to be that much you can do to control it. So in that case the best thing you can do is to try to get past it by remembering that it's not personal.

Mine did that on accident once. I found it to be funny, but you could tell she was really embarrassed. She appaligized 20 times probably. She may just be bad with names. If I've been around my sisters I call my daughter by their names all the time, and my mom always calls her son by her brothers name. Sometimes it just happens. Maybe she works with a girl with the same name as your mans ex so the name is on the tip of her tounge. Maybe she's just a jerk.
