Need help ladies!!

I just need some feedback about a fight I just had with my SO. I got home about 7 from work and I told him that i was leaving work around 630 and will be home soon well I was planning on making spaghetti for dinner and the water takes about 20 minutes to boil so I thought he would start the water so when I came home I can make everything else but when I walked in the door he was just sitting on the cough watching tv and when I sat down for a minute to relax he asked when I'm starting dinner and I just flipped. Did I overreact and apologize or did I have a right?
