Baby shower november to early?

Ok so I live in NJ and our winters have been bad with snow ... I'm due February 18. I was going to have my shower the 2nd week of January ... To be out of the holidays.... Anyway my mom is pushing to move the shower to two weeks before thanks giving cause she is worried about weather and we still don't want to be in the middle of the holidays... I'll be like 26 weeks at that point... Too early???
