Cloth or disposable diapers???

Hi everyone! First time mommy here :) I'm just curious as to what is preferred/better? Cloth or disposable diapers? & why?

We will be using cloth for our baby. I highly suggest the fb group Fluff Love & CD Science. They are seriously amazing and will help you with any questions you may have. Cloth diapers including laundering is SO much cheaper than disposables. You will barely notice a difference in your electric bill. The only expensive part is starting out. But they also depends on style and brands you go with. Definitely do ypurown research before deciding. For now though, here are some great pictures I got from Fluff Love.

I'll be using cloth nappies, just because I'll be a stay at home mum for the time she'll be in nappies and it doesn't seem fair for my hardworking partner to pay for disposable nappies when it wouldn't be that much harder for me to just use cloth ones 😊😊😊

We cloth diaper. It saved us a ton of money not buying diapers, no late night runs to the store and they're adorable! The lovely thing about cloth is that, now that I'm pregnant with my second, I can pull out the newborn clothes and newborn diapers from my first and not have to worry about buying a thing!

Using cloth.  Way cheaper.  We have our whole stash bought and spent 200 bucks.  Electricity will likely go up but it still beats us digging out of a snow storm and risking our necks on bad roads because we are low on diapers.  And so many other reasons too.  Whatever fits your routine is best.  I'll be home mostly with the baby so it's easier for me.  If I was a working mama I more than likely would have gone with disposables for the convenience.   This is just what works for us.  😊

I used disposable with my first two but trying a hybrid cloth diaper this time. (gDiapers) They have biodegradable disposable inserts that can be composted or flushed but I can also use them with cloth inserts when at home. I will send the disposable inserts to daycare.

Honestly we're using both. Cloth in the house and when we travel or something disposable. That way it still saves money and you dont have to carry around stinky cloth diapers in the bag.

When you factor in water, electric, and soap to wash the cloth they aren't really cheaper. Plus depending on where you live your waste facility may "need" the disposable. They have a higher burning point so it helps them burn the rest of the trash (they did a presentation at my husbands work-my husband is in the environmental field). We ran the numbers and found disposable cheaper especially as some of the inserts cost more then a box of diapers for half the amount...
