Heavy period or Miscarriage?

Usually my periods are light flow, medium flow on the 1st and 2nd day. I got my period yesterday and it was heavy, I didn't get any cramps I was just feeling discomfort. This morning when I woke up to change pad, it was a lot of blood! Bright red, I had to wipe like 4 times because there was blood everywhere. Afterwards I went back to bed because I was feeling crampy, I slept for an hour and a half, I woke up with an urge to go pee and I ran to the restroom and once again there was a lot of blood. My pad had this fleshy type of stuff and a couple of small blood clots. I don't know if I miscarried, if I did then I didn't know that I was pregnant. This would have been my first pregnancy. I'm lost to this, please help! I don't want to go to the doctor.
