Do you bite your nails?

Question

I'm curious to see how many other nail biters there are out there and how bad their nail biting is.

Mines bad enough that my nails bleed and hurt for several days. 
And then because they're all jagged on the edges, I want to fix them by biting more

I have to put bandaids on my fingers to stop myself from biting them

I don't bite my nails but I have every other body focused repetitive behavior. Dermotillomania (hang nails, dry cracked feet, scalp bumps), trichotillomania (all body hair, mostly the crown of my head), pushing against my teeth with my tongue, etc. It's stress relief and unnoticeable self harm in one.

I bite sometimes but I mostly  pick/rip/dig at my nails. I've tried everything hot sauce polish scotch tape band aids. Only thing that helps is when i cover them such as putting fake nails like press ons or acrylics. 💅

I used to bite my nails a lot Until it bled like yours did. I tried putting clear nail polish over it,  band aids,  scotch tape,  put alcohol or something menthol on them to keep me from biting. It stopped me from biting for a while but then I unconsciously start biting them again especially when I get anxious.  and it gets harder to stop. Right now I've been able to stop biting my fingernails except for the ones on my thumbs because I still can't stop 
 100%. And I'm already 20 yrs old so I know I should really stop biting now.

I use to bite my nails up until 2 years ago when my partner and I moved in together and I now only bite the sling around my nails and sometimes with my anxiety I do make them bleed

Apparently I was doing it enough to make my teeth chip. 😁 I was not happy about that. Trying my best to avoid biting them. Problem is I've always clipped/filed them too short too.

Mostly I bite them because it bothers me when they're uneven. There are times I bite them because  bored or stressed I guess.

Luckily, I found a neat little keychain clipper I can try to remember to use instead. I'll just have to work on not caring how uneven they might get.
