Thoughts on the paleo diet?

So I've decided to go paleo. I am so guilty of drinking soda and have a love affair with carbs... I've had friends do it and they've lost weight. I've tried several recipes and I don't think I'll be deprived of delicious food, lol. I've got my Pinterest board already.

My husband did paleo for like 6 months and absolutely nothing changed.

I did it for two weeks and was starting to see a difference, but it was hard for me to stick with. I'm not home a lot so I get the majority of my food from restaurants. It's hard to find something that follows the diet without it being too complicated.

In today's so called evolved society, I have found one particular diet or eating plan won't work. 
We're multifaceted and so are our bodies. Which needs different energy sources at different times of day, depending on our activities. 
I'd say cut your portion size, make healthy choices, & indulge a couple times a month. 
If you like fizzy drinks try cutting them down to one a day, than try one every couple of days and so on. Make your own healthier versions. Lots of fresh fruits, herbs, topped off with soda water for a sparkling, natural drink. 
Be careful with caffeine/sugar crashes with store fizzy drinks, they're a bitch, headaches, mood swings, etc which is why you need to wean off over time.

my brother and his fiance tried Paleo and it worked for a short time. the problem is you can't be a picky eater at all and they both are. they're now cutting out carbs and that has been so much easier for them than any other diet. they've also lost a ton of weight and look much happier

A few years ago I was very strict paleo. I was working out a lot. And I looked and felt amazing.  
Now, due to my daughters food sensitivities we follow a diet that is similar to paleo..  just not as strict. We still eat beans, rice, and oatmeal. But no dairy or wheat. I also don't work out very often anymore. But I am happy with my body and the way I feel!
