Will you be getting a flu shot during pregnancy?

pregnancy?" /> I feel like my doctor pushes me at EVERY appointment to get the flu shot since I'm pregnant. I have stressed to her that I do not get flu shots when I'm not pregnant and I will not be injecting my body and baby with flu and all the other nasty crap in the vaccine they do not tell you about. I'm just wondering how everyone else's doctors approach the subject and what choices you're making and why. I understand we have 2 sides in here, the vacciners and the no vacciners I have no judgement against your personal choices I would just love to hear feedback and personal stories.

My doc tried to push the flu shot on me too. And she was a midwife so I thought she would have a more holistic approach. Flu shots are pointless. They only protect you from a certain strand of the flu and there are TONS of different strands! The flu suck, yes. But you get through it.

You get the flu shot to protect the baby since they can't  have one till their six months. It is SAFE!!!! You DO NOT get the live virus!!! It is IMPOSSIBLE to get the flu from the shot!!!

I got the flu shot when I was pregnant because the flu is life threatening for Mom and Baby while pregnant. It's more of a risk that a female pregnant will get the flu compared to the small risk of the flu shit causing complications.  A few of the women that were pregnant at the same time as me on the babybump app actually had to get their gall bladder removed during pregnancy because they fell sick after not getting the flu shot. It's been awhile since this happened so I don't remember the link between the two. I mainly got the flu shot because it protects the baby for up to 6 months after birth. My son has never been sick.

I got my flu shot in December so I'm due in October and not due for my next shot till December again. I get it every year because even though I got the flu during this pregnancy I only three up for a couple hours instead of the days I usually do and I just had a mild fever and body aches. So much better than the two to three weeks of being sick that I normally get if I don't get the flu shot.

I didn't get mine while I was pregnant, and that just so happen to be during prime flu season. Anyhow, it wasn't because I refused, it was because my ob never thought I needed it, so he didn't recommend it to me. I think I've had the flu all of once in my life, and I've never had a flu shot because my parents never had us get them. I'm happy with not getting it, but you gotta go with your gut and do what you feel is right..

I did and absolutely will in the future. It is actually strongly recommended for pregnant women to get the flu vaccine while pregnant. Do NOT however, receive the nasal mist while pregnant or living with young children because it is a live attenuated vaccine. I am 100% PRO vaccine, and if any doubts I do research. Also working in the medical field it is very important that I take the necessary precautions for myself and my unborn son.

Also for anyone who would like information regarding certain vaccines (including the flu shot) the CDC'S website is great!

You're not ALLOWED to have the flu shot while you're pregnant! You have a crazy doctor if they're pushing you to get one pregnant. Mine is pushing me to get mine in the hospital after I deliver, but she said absolutely canNOT have a flu shot during your pregnancy. Even at work we get them free, the biometrics people will not give me one because of my pregnancy.
