Doctor mistake?

So I went on Friday to an urgent care in my area with pain in my back and sides and cramping when I urinated. The doctor gave up diagnosing after radiographs (XRays) & decided he'd just treat me for a UTI. I told him my husband and I had been ttc for almost 3 years and that there was a chance I could be pregnant. They took a urine sample and performed a pregnancy test, surprise it was negative. They gave me 3 days of antibiotics and I was told they are NOT OKAY for pregnancy. Okay, that's fine, I was told I wasn't pregnant, whatever. So I've taken 2 days worth.

I woke up this morning with cramping and bleeding. My cycles last 50-60 days on average and I'm due to be ovulating (which he confirmed at the office during his exam). I called and they are telling me to go to the emergency room but my question is, if something isn't good for a pregnancy & can cause miscarriages, what is it doing to my reproductive system?! I'm concerned something is seriously wrong. This is not my normal cycle & these are not my normal cramps. Does anyone have some advice? Please, no negativity, I didn't believe I was pregnant and that's why I took the medication.

I would bet it is just a UTI but it could have become a bladder or a kidney infection if the pain is radiating from your back on one side. If they gave you Ciprofloxacin or Vantin that should get rid of a UTI, bladder or kidney infection. As for the pregnancy, I don't think antibiotics would mess up your cycle but it may cause a yeast infection since antibiotics kill all bacteria even the good bacteria in your vagina so I'd suggest eating some yogurt every day. My doc gave me amoxicillin for my uti. It's helped so much but the pills are 875 mg and huge!!!!

I'm day 4 in the hospital with a kidney infection . First sign is ALWAYS cramping and side/back pain . then within 24 hours the fever hits like a freight train . 
I am also trying to conceive . I was on such a mess when they first started the antibiotics I didn't ask any questions . Since I found out they are not good for pregnancy . It's dissapointing cause tho I probably wasn't pregnant the hope is always there . I have duplicate ureters which brings me back to the hospital basically once a year with a kidney infection . I hate them .

Kidney infection/stones? X-rays don't always show stones. You may need a MRI/CT.
