My boyfriend and I have been talking about sex for a while but because of the distance we haven't been able to do anything.

When were together he was very shy... It's like he's scared to touch anywhere but my waist. I try to move his hands and tell him it's okay but they always move right back to my waist.

I don't know what to do because I want to be intimate with him but at the same time I don't want to scare him off... How do I get him to be less awkward about intimacy? Suggestions?

I should probably add some info to the post!

He's a virgin and I am the fist person he's ever kissed or done anything with. The reason I think this is strange is because when we've ever danced or are in public his hands are all over me.

I just want to help him. And it's not like he doesn't want to touch me because he's asked if he can, I just think he gets scared...

Some people just take some time to warm up. Are either or both of you virgins? Because that could be reason for some hesitance.

Instead of telling him to explore on his own, try moving your hands with his to different parts of your body. Being long distance, he might be unfamiliar with "how far is too far" so physically move his hands to your breasts or to your behind, keeping your hands on top of his for a bit. This encourages his exploring; and compliment him on how nice it feels/moan or something. Make him feel confident that this is what you want, and that it feels good.
