What a friend!

I am getting married in a few months. I told a friend I would pay her to be my photographer and she could build her profile. She has never shot a wedding, and to be honest, her photos aren't that great. She is not a professional, but does have an associates degree in photography.

So she thought it over and said I would need to pay her 700 dollars plus travel. I almost fainted. We have been "best" friends for over 10 years.

I asked her why she needed compensation for travel as a photographer, but not if she was going just as a guest. She said she needed a new lense for her camera, and also money for personal travel in a few months.

Now I'm super pissed. I was willing to pay her a reasonable amount, but it seems like she is trying to use my wedding for monetary gain. I would charge nothing or a very minimal amount for my best friend, especially if I was not pro and had never done a wedding. But that's just me. I have a photographer; but I'm so hurt that she did this.

Is it unfair for me to be upset?
