Not wanting marriage

My SO doesn't want to get married because it's just a pc of paper. He's scared I'll take half his stuff (his friend got burnt on this) I just feel like marriage is something I want to do. I can already take half his stuff by living together 6 months. And he's drunk right now but mumbing about a prenup. We both own our own houses and vehicles. And I honestly Have more savings then he does. I really want to get married one day and I'm just not sure how to have this conversation without an argument.
