Has your husband or SO ever called you unattractive?

I'm 6 weeks postpartum and as a result I have the deflated balloon stomach and purple stretch marks everywhere. I was big before pregnancy. Size 16-18. Now I'm in a size 20. I'm 5'8 and about a year before I got pregnant my husband had made some dick head comments about him not finding me attractive. I was 179 at my smallest when we were first engaged 5 years ago, size 14. Now I'm 276lbs. He is a great man but there's moments I've really hated him for hitting below the belt and commenting saying I'm not attractive? He hasn't said it again ever since he knew how much it hurt me when he said it but I can't help but be bitter again even after all this time of not hearing it with my postpartum body. Those of you that have had something similar said to you was it motivation?? Did it make you lose weight and take pride in yourself again? It just tore me down when he said it. I was still a size 14 at the time he said it. I was still smaller then I am now. I use to have all the time in the world to work out when I was smaller because I didn't work & ran two hours a day. I just lost all my energy when I got a full time job. I don't even eat that bad. I want to get back in shape but I'm feeling slightly pathetic that his mean comments are what are motivating me to get back to my old body 😔

My ex I dated before my now husband made a comment that he wasn't attracted to me anymore because I gained weight. I am 5'8'' and weighed 204. I did gain about 40 lbs during our relationship. But literally as soon as he said that I ended up going from 204 and size 18 to 150 size 8. Then I left his sorry behind!

Mine got mad and called me fat. I shrieked like a banshee and chased him with a wooden spoon. Haven't had a problem since.

I suggest getting a good sturdy wooden spoon ;)

Also, you're beautiful and he's being an ass. Tell him he ain't no prince charming and he's being an ass. And be sure to shake that spoon in his general direction when you tell him 😉

My husband called me fat one time and I bawed my eyes out but the next day I wiped those tears away looked in the mirror and said to myself Angelica your sex and ever since that I love myself. I tell myself I'm sexy and the prettiest women on this earth and I truely  feel beautiful. I also got diagnosed with Leukemia and was so sick I almost died but long story short in the mist of having leukemia I went down to 245- to - 200 but I gained 15 pounds back but the point of telling you all this is that You are beautiful and there's no-one like you anywhere. We might not like our bodies but there ours and we carried our beautiful babies for 10 months and we felt them kick and move-wiggle and play and that's what matters that most. Your body is beautiful and learning to love it is the first way to loving yourself

This is one of those things that I can see from both sides. As a women this is a terrible thing and no one wants to hear it but looking at it from the guys perspective I can understand where he is coming from in a way. When you were at your smallest that is when he fell for you and things have changed since then and he might not be as attracted to you as he once was.

By all means be mad that he said it but at least he is trying to be honest with you and not sugar coating it. (I went through something similar)

I am a competitive person so if that happened to me I would tell him he needs to help me lose the weight by either exercising with me or helping with a diet change to make both of us happy. It is easier to lose weight if you have someone going through it with you then by yourself.

Please don't take this as me bashing being overweight, I am not a tiny girl by any means but there is something to be said about being in a relationship and gaining weight.

A man should NEVER joke that way. Those are things that they can never take back. Getting back into shape will increase your energy as crazy as it sounds. It burns the carbs and fats to produce energy in your body. Just take it easy to start off. It may take a couple times to get into the groove but don't get discouraged. Do it for yourself not for him.

I have mixed emotions about this. When I was with my ex, I gained 100 pounds in 2.5 years. He kept telling me I was beautiful, even though everyone else was worried about my weight (my highest weigh was 370 pounds). After we broke up, I lost 140 pounds and now I'm down to 230 roughly. I feel like my life and our relationship would have been completely different if he wouldn't have complimented me when he should have been pointing out my deadly weight gain.

During the weightloss I met my now fiancé. He has loved me since I was 360 pounds and would never call me ugly or fat. He now gets the benefit of having a smaller healthier me because I decided that I needed to change for ME and no one else. I've been told him to let me know when I getting too big again because he should be the one always being honest with me.

I hope you're able to talk to him. He should be your support system and if losing weight is important to you, you should be able to do it with his help

That's not okay!!! I was 150 when we got together and during the past 7 years I've gone up to 240. I am so ashamed of my body but my husband tells me he loves my body and thinks I'm the sexiest wife in the whole world. My boobs are saggy, I have a cellulite ass and a floppy stomach pouch from my deflated pregnant belly. He doesn't care. He can't keep his hands off me! I'm sorry you are being treated that way.

Hun I am 5 foot 2 inches and I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I weigh in at 125. There has been days where he tells me I look like I have gained weight. I run 5-7 Miles a day. Anytime I mention going to a gym or running more he always gets offended. Guys don't realize how those little comments affect us. You need to be happy with your body and if you're not then change it for you not for him. He should love you for you

My SO commented on my weight and still does either I'm to skinny, no booty, lost my boobs, or I should watch what I'm eating.. Lol I've told him it's hurtful he will say sorry and it'll eventually happen again. Look wise he likes to comment pretty much about everything my hair being up he doesn't like, my makeup, lashes, can't wear red lipstick, no heels, I'm to pale, wax my stash, if I don't wear makeup he complains about how I should wear makeup land look good for him. It doesn't even bother me anymore it's like I don't hear it ... He's never going to change and guess what i still am doing what I always have no man can come between me and my makeup ... He's a dick
