No HCG test during early pregnancy?

HCG test during early pregnancy?" /> For those of you who have been pregnant and remember...was a blood test for HCG one of the first things your doctor ordered and did they re do it in a few days to see if it was doubling? At 6 weeks my dr says it's not necessary because I am in good health so I have to wait till the 8 wk ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy is viable. Does this sound right?

Mine did urine tests and they were positive, so blood tests weren't needed

I didn't get tested for it till 8 weeks in the ER for spotting. I went to my dr. Appointment three days later and they didn't check there. It was around 9thousand something and we had two ultrasounds so I guess they figured baby was healthy. I wouldn't worry about it.
