Swearing around your kids?

Question

Option 1:  I and everyone else that comes around them swear around my kids. And I don't do anything about it.

Option 2.  Swearing around my kids is ok and I do it but I don't allow certain words

Option 3: I try my best not to have swearing around my kids but still do

Hearing people curse, especially around children, makes me cringe! It's just so trashy!!!

My kids are 10 and 7. I don't stress about swearing in front of them. My nephew who lives with us is 2 1/2 and repeats everything he hears. So around him we don't swear and I am constantly asking his mom and her boyfriend not to do it either.

To me it just depends on the age of the kid and how likely they are to repeat what they hear.

Children will always be exposed to swears whether you like it or not. As their parents you are their role model..  If you swear a lot..  Guess what, they will most likely grow up to do the same. In my perspective it's unattractive, disrespectful, unprofessional. I model to my kids how to act as best as I could bc I want them to be the best they could.

I think it's just common sense not to curse in front of children just like you shouldn't curse at a church a school or in front of old people I'm I the only one raised that way I understand a slip here and there but to just do it because it's a backwards way of thinking my husband doesn't curse in front of women smh

I tend to have a very elaborate vocabulary. With that being said, I absolutely do not swear around other peoples children. It's very disrespectful. And I will do my best not to do it around my baby. But it happens, and its not going to be the end of the world if they hear a dirty word!

Drives me nuts that my husband cusses as much around the kids as he does. When he's around just me, I don't care. I just don't think it's that hard not to do it on front of the littles. I don't think it's cute to hear my kids call other people douchebags, or repeat shit and fuck when they are 5 and 1 1/2

I think it's more important to teach your children what words mean and the impact they have on others. If they choose to say a certain word, that's up to them but it's up to you to educate them.

I don't swear at all but my husband has slipped on occasion and I do try to gently correct him.
