"Oh. You two are having a baby... Together?"

Krisilynn • 23 years young. Happily in love. Currently pregnant with our rainbow baby🌈🚼! Due to meet baby on March 28th!

We're an interracial couple btw. So sitting at the dentist since my boyfriend is having tooth issues and trying to get two pulled today. He's currently in the back and I'm in the lobby and the receptionist looks at me and compliments my dress and asked me if I was waiting. I told her yes I'm just waiting on my boyfriend. Well she looked at my tummy when I got up to grab a magazine and said "how far along are you?" I told her 10 weeks and she smiled. Well the DA came out and gave me my boyfriends phone so I could play a few games. And the receptionist over heard my boyfriends name. And as the DA left the room she rubbed my belly (yay unsolicited belly rubs...) The receptionist said "is your boyfriend the one in the basketball shorts and green and black hat?" I said yes and her response was "oh...you two are having a baby....together?" So I said "yes. We sure are." And she scoffed and started giggling. The woman in the lobby across from me is a white woman and she was disgusted at the receptionist and she immediately says "why is that any of your concern young lady? Are you asking because she's clearly biracial with black or do you feel like being nosey. Because I most certainly know its not BC she's 'ugly' she's a gorgeous woman. But how dare you question her and ask if they are having a baby together. She's pregnant and that's her boyfriend. You're not stupid. Your job is to ask questions to customers about dental related stuff, handle cash and card payments and give paperwork. Not judge this young woman on her pregnancy and relationship based on her skin color."

Well..safe to say it's started...the judging. But I'm so happy that this stranger stood up for me. Before she left she said to me "your baby is going to be GORGEOUS. You're beautiful and your boyfriend is so handsome. Take care of yourself and don't let judgmental people get to you."

I guess there's rude people still bent on interracial couples. But...I'm SO glad people in this world still stand up for someone when they're being talked to wrongfully or treated wrong.
