OPK testing Question???-For" long cyclers"

Question

What all times of a day and how many times a day do you use opk? And which day of your cycle do you start testing?( despite what glow says as your fertile window)
 Do you dip the stick or use urine stream? Is any method better than the other?  
Is it in sync with your bbt always?

I have an average of 40 days cycle..  PLEASE HELP!!

My period averages between 40-45 days, so I started testing as soon as my period was over. I had no idea if I was even ovulating, so I wanted to cover all my bases. I tested twice a day around mid morning and then afternoon around 3:30pm. Afternoon gave the best results. I finally ovulated on CD 22. I had also been taking a herbal fertility tea to regulate and shorten my cycle since CD4. According to my "O" day, I'm supposed to have a 36 day cycle this month. Af is supposed to show on Friday, so I'm waiting to see what happens.
