If you want it pronounced are-ee-ya, you could use the traditional spelling Aria. Arya from game of thrones is are-ya, there's only two syllables, not three.

My husband and I love the name Arya too, I nixed it for fear it will be too mainstream especially with game of thrones constantly gaining steam. It is a beautiful name though.

Michelle isnt that common. I had one other girl in my graduating class with the name. Last time it was "popular" in the states was thanks to the Beatles. I personally never had any problem with it. No teasing or taunting off it and was nicknamed shells.
