Getting off birth control

So in the middle of July, I decided to get off of my birth control because it was giving me crazy hormone rage and vericose veins. My period hasn't shown up yet and I'm on cycle day like 50 something. I have read that it takes a while for your body to adjust but I just don't know. My fiancé and I have had unprotected sex a number of times since I got off of it but I don't know when the best time to test would be since my period won't be coming for another couple months. Please comment and help?
