Antibiotics Make my Pill Stop Working?

I just got over a horrible cold and my doctor gave me some antibiotics (Amoxicillan) and I read online that they will affect the performance of my birth control (Trivara). If I have sex, will it just not work, or not as well? I'm going to continue to take them, I just want some opinions on what's happening to my body 😂

Your leaflet lists all the drugs you need to be concerned about. Rifampicin and Rifabutin should be the only antibiotics on that list.

Modern pills aren't as affected by antibiotics. My sister is a pharmacy tech and asked the pharmacists and they all said the same thing. They still give the warning but it's not the same risk it used to be.

I was concieved while my mom was on the pill because she took an antibiotic lol. Just be as careful as you would if you weren't on the pill for now

I have chronic Lyme and always have been on harsh antibiotics while on the pill, my mom has always warned me that it lessens the affects of my bc so I'd just either use a condom to be extra safe or have him pull out
