Placid baby, aspergers??

Hi ladies,

DD is 2 months old. She is very easy going, rarely cries. She sleep through the night (7-8 hours) since birth. She smile but not a lot, she more so coos and baby talks to us. When I bf, she doesn't mKe eye contact with me all that much. Also, when she got her vitamin k shot at birth she didn't even cry. I told all of this to a friend and she said to be concerned about aspergers. Anyone have any insight or can ease my mind?

My nephew is on the spectrum and he did not show any signs until he was 18+ months. Before that he was super clingy. Also, I babysat a boy on the spectrum during his infancy and his signs were not clear until after 6+ mos.
It's not unusual for a 2-mo old not to make eye contact. Don't worry yourself sick. Wait and watch.

If detached behaviors persist beyond 7 months, then go get SEVERAL opinions.

Aspergers isn't a diagnosis anymore, it would be considered asd or something else. I think it's way early to diagnose, you can always talk to your doctor about early intervention screening (with your concerns) but I bet she has to be a little older.

Signs of a 299dx does not appear until toddler age. One of the youngest child we diagnosis in our clinic was 11 months old which is rear. Most signs appear at 1.5 to 2 years of age.

I think it's a bit early to be concerned, but Easter Seals has a program called "make the first 5 count," you can google it and it will tell you what milestones your baby should meet and when

I was like that and I turned out fine some babies can be more placid than others

There are signs to look for in infants for sure. Go online and look it up. Not everyone shows signs at the same time. But not making eye contact as a baby is a sign. Just do some research
