New to lo ovrel/28

So I began my menstrual cycle on 9/9/15 and took my first dose of birth control that very same day. 3 days into the pill I began getting terrible side effects , severe acne, excessive bloating,  and definite increase in appetite. Day 7 I decided to call it quits and realized hormones aren't my thing. Day 8 comes around and lo and be hold there is blood on the tissue paper when I wiped. Is this spotting or am I getting a complete new menstrual cycle ?.... Please advise.
