Should the soon-to-be wife/husband invite the child's mother/father to their wedding?

A child's mother or father is getting married soon (to someone else) and the child will be in the wedding. Though they were never in a committed relationship, the parents are also slowly getting back on good terms/cordial since the birth of the child.

My sons dad is coming to my upcoming wedding and his family as well. We parted on bad terms but worked together and are now on great twrms. He is currently married as well. My son wanted me to invite him and I dos and they said yes. I am inviting his family bc they have always supported my decisions  with their grandson and always helped me out when their son was not around. But not every situation is like this. Maybe just send the invite and let them know they are welcome to come and let the choice be theirs.

If both the bride and groom agree then I don't see why not but its not really necessary for them to be there. I wouldn't personally

Would you want your husbands ex at your wedding? I wouldn't! Lol we got married in another country and took my husbands daughter without her mother. His entire family was there to help care for her and mine was too. I see no reason to invite an ex to the wedding nor would I want to attend my ex's wedding!

It really depends on how the bride and groom feel, if either is uncomfortable with it, don't invite the other parent, you don't want it to become a sore spot later. But if there are no hard feelings, and everyone is cool with it, then go for it. But don't be surprised if the other parent declines either, they may decide it's too awkward/uncomfortable for them. If they're on good terms, sure. Even better that it's like a free babysitter for the kid so the bride & groom can enjoy their day without needing to constantly run off to care for a kid.
