Would you rather buy a walker or a playmat? I already have a swing and a play yard.

I've read some things and been told by my midwife to stay away from a walker. That they can actually hinder muscle development in the legs and make baby walk later than they normally would. Same with those door bouncers. They can injure hips. So I personally would get a playmat.

Both my kids used walkers. My daughter started walking at 8 months and a week and my son was 10 months to the day. I am not suggesting one over the other, I just don't necessarily agree with the negativity towards the walker....but a play mat would be my first purchase since you would use it first.

I didn't know people still used walkers. The thing that's weird to me is how the baby's legs are bent so they're not really learning to walk it's like not effective it should be called a sit n scoot or something lol cause they're not walking.
