Am I overreacting?

I need your honest opinion! So, my husband and I live states away from our families so please keep that in mind as you're reading. My due date is October 31st and my in-laws are trying to fly out November 7th to meet our baby girl. My husband gets 10 days off from work after she's born and I was really looking forward to having that bonding experience with my core family. Am I wrong for being upset and wanting them to wait until later in the month? I mean, realistically I could be delivering her as they are flying out!!! That gives me zero time with just my husband...please either make me feel like it is acceptable to feel like this, or feel free to rip me a new one because I should just be thankful I have family who care.

I agree you guys need time to bond and get your motion going before family come out gives you more time to heal and baby more time to just spend with mom and dad plus once grandparents come the baby's chance for peaceful sleep is over lol well of their anything like my parents it is

I think they should wait. You need the time as a family to get into your new groove and to have the bonding time with no distractions.

I would tell them what you said here and have your husband talk to his family. They may not know how you feel.

I absolutely think you are justified in feeling this way. This is YOUR time as a family now. Other family becomes secondary and you deserve all the intimacy with your newborn and husband as much as your lovely mama heart desires. My best friend gave birth to her son three weeks early this month, and she doesn't have any family of her own so it's just her husbands side. Her mother in law literally just shows up at their place . I actually witnessed it as I was there to take their newborn photos and as the grandmother she thinks any of this newborns life revolves around her and what she wants. Her in laws also claim they aren't getting enough time with the baby and he was literally 8 days old. You guys deserve as much intimate time as you need as well as you need time to get into your new routines. It's so important for all of you! 💗

My husband is in the military too and I completely understand what you mean! I was thinking about that today. I think I'm gonna talk to him about having his parents come down after his 10 days bc I want that time with just him, the baby, and I.

My husband's family lives states away and I refuse to have anyone here in the first month. I know I need time to adjust as well as my husband and my baby girl. I also want to be able to whip out my boob while adjusting to breastfeeding without my Inlaws here. Do what's right for YOU! You're the one that's going to be doing all the work and you're going to be exhausted.

It's your decision. My sister gave birth to her girls and told a family they weren't welcome for a week after they were born

I feel the exact same way as you! I want that time with JUST my little family. I am due 1/1 and don't want anyone to buy tickets (we live states away as well), until later in the month. Who knows when baby will actually arrive. 
1. I want the 3 of us to have special time together. We'll never have these moments again.
2. I am going to be so exhausted that I know having people in town will stress me out. In the first few weeks, we have to feed so much..having guests is the last thing I want.

When paternity leave is over, sure, I'll take company and help!

One thing I was told that I want to pass along: buy paper plates and plastic forks and spoons. You and your hubby won't want to do dishes 😝
