Cerclage and bedrest?

For those of you who have a cerclage AND are in hospital on bedrest, can you please say why the Dr admitted you to hospital for bedrest instead of just sending you home?

I was in the hospital for 5 weeks (although they wanted to keep me for 7). Their reasoning they wanted me to get to 28 weeks safely so that the baby would reach maximum viability. But it did seem basically like adult babysitting... I get that it would be difficult to truly be on bedrest with other children - but this is my first. I'm 27+4 today and at home now!

I believe that if your cerclage was successful and your bleeding is under control, they will send you home to rest like they did me. They were able to do 2 stitches. But they'll keep you if you need monitoring and something doesn't seem right

I had the cercalge but it fell out. My doctor was going to admit me regardless of cerclage in or out for hospital bed rest because the state of the cervix. They wanted to make sure baby could have intervention if I delivered to fast and steroids plus help so I could truly stay in bed as much as possible. I am 23 weeks 3 days. Been in over a week now. I won't go home until 36 weeks or after delivery
