Obesity epidemic

Is anyone concerned with the obesity epidemic that's plaguing the developed world? Any ideas to tackle it? What about dealing with the health implications for those already affected? Ideas beyond, "eat a salad" please.

This is not fat-shaming. This is concern for our species, not singling out people for ridicule.

Hiding behind a health condition as the cause of the weight gain does not help solve the problem either. Yes there are medical reasons, but that doesn't explain why +60% of the US population is overweight now, when these medical conditions existed long before but the rates of obseity did not.

Underweight people have their own health issues. This is not about you either, although your help as allies is appreciated.
